Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is the player's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after that period of the previous year.
Victory also means Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.
His retrieving play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his first professional victory, gained dominance to force a final set.
He rescued four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
